“Technology can be the answer to a lot of things, but I believe human consciousness needs to be in a symbiotic relationship with technology, both evolving together.” - Kenji Williams
Origin Stories was featured for a live audience at the Future of Storytelling.
Origin Stories is a live theater performance that brings to life Rumi's poetry in 3D augmented reality with holographic animated objects and characters interacting with live dancers. 4 dancers commune with natural elements of fire and geometry, only to forget this connection resulting in the abuse of fire. Directed by Kenji Williams, and choreography and assistant art direction by Irina Akulenko, Origin Stories utilizes 3D projection effects, 3D animated characters by Tobias Gremmler, and morphing sets, live motion tracking, and custom programmed visual algorithms. BELLA GAIA = mind blown, in a glorious collision of science and art. It is an explosion of color, sound, and light that will restore your faith in the almighty and remind you that the beauty of our planet is enough to take your breath away. Deeply meaningful. Meditatively heartfelt....
The footage in BELLA GAIA is breathtaking and when you add the musicians - Williams on violin, Yumi Kurosawa on Japanese 20-string Koto, and vocalist Kristin Hoffmann, the resulting artistry takes on the allure of the mystical.
Exotic dancers join the group for several mesmerizing sequences with imagery from Egypt and India, the fiery sun, and the infinite cosmos.

If you have not yet experienced the artistry of Tobias Gremmler - prepare to be mesmerized by his exceptional works: https://vimeo.com/tobiasgremmler
It is a great honor to be working with Tobias on our new Origin Stories production, sponsored by the University of Colorado Arts and Sciences. As part of the artist residency of Kenji Williams, this next iteration of last year's successful Origin Stories show is larger and more ambitious in every sense: Expanding to 4 dancers, double the screen width to 30ft, and re-designed with careful choreography by Irina Akulenko, working closely with Kenji on the interaction of the holographic imagery, story, and the exceptionally beautiful interplay between dancer and image. Additional 3D animators: Khairul Rahimi, Clyde Cabanban, Yukari Akaba, Kevin Patton. Light calligraphy by Dubai's JZ Aamir http://www.jzaamir.com/
